Waves Of Energy

Alana Movric

What actually is a wave of energy? A wave of energy is the particle which is created from vibration. Waves come from the vibration of the particles making it move up and down. In a wave of energy the particles are still but the waves are moving. This is because the particles are vibrating which is making the waves move up and down. Most people described waves a energy-mobiles because the energy from the particle is moving back and forth.

There are two types of energy waves and they are:

Transverse Waves:  A transverse waves is when the a particle will move perpendicular which is in a right angle motion. As shown on the image on the right the Transversewave is moving up and down.

Compression Waves: A compression wave is when the waves move parallel from the particle making the waves not touching each other. In the image below it shows us that the wave is moving side to side.

Perpendicular means going in a 90˚ angle. Perpendicular is the way the transverse wave moves . A medium is the material which the waves travel through. Parallel means two lines that are the same that do not occur to touch each other.

Wavelength:

The wavelength of the wave can be measured from the highest point to the same point on the identical side of the wave. The wavelength is the highest point of the wave.  As shown in the image below we can tell that the wavelength is measured between the highest point of the wave.

Frequency of a Wave:

The frequency of a wave is a number of waves passing through one precise point in a certain point of the wave. The frequency of the wave rely’s on how fast or how slow the wave is moving from the vibration. The wave would be measured in Hertz. There are two different types of waves of frequency. High frequency waves are waves more closer together. A low frequency wave is a wave more further apart.

A electromagnetic wave determines the wavelength of how high a sound can reach. When it comes to sound waves, wavelength determines the pitch of the sound. Amplitude means how how the wave can reach. The higher the wave reaches the higher the Amplitude. In sound waves, amplitude determines how loud a song can reach.  In light waves, amplitude determines how light the brightness is.

Waves are the way energy moves from place to place.. The particles in the wave only vibrate. Particles in a wave are moving a distance against a force. A transverse wave is a wave where the particle moves perpendicular to the medium. A longitudinal wave is where the particle moves parallel to the medium. The wavelength is the distance between two like parts of the wave. Amplitude is the height of the wave.
