Medium- A medium is a substance that transfer energy.

Wave of Energy- Move from one place to another.

Transverse Wave- Moving particles that move in a right angle motion.

Compression Wave- Particles that move backwards and forwards.

Frequency- A number of vibrations per second in a wave.

Wavelength- The distance between the waves tops.

Amplitude- The distance each particle moves.

Electromagnetic Spectrum- Made up of all the electromagnetic waves. It is arranged in the wave frequency and wavelength.

Visible Light- The only EM waves we can see with the human eye. Are waves as the colours of the rainbow.

Infrared Radiation- Cannot been seen by the naked eye. It is seen by all objects and is usually sensed as heat.

Ultra-Violet Radiation- Ultraviolet radiation is needed by humans to help the body produce vitamin D.

Electromagnetic Waves- The number of times per second that a new electric or magnetic force is generated.

Microwaves - Is an electromagnetic wave with a wave length that heats up foods ect.

Coaxial cables - Is a type of cable that is used by modern day appliances like TVs.

Reflection- When light bounces off the surface of a substance into the same medium.

Refraction- Refraction can occur when there is a change in the speed of light as it passes from one substance/medium to another.

Concave- Caves inwards.

Convex- Bulges outwards.

Compressions- Air particles closer together than usual.

Rarefactions- Air particles further apart than usual.

Sound waves-  Are a combination of compressions and rarefactions.

Reverberation- When sound is reflected over and over again.

Radio waves- They occur at different frequencies.

Transmitter - Uses a message and encodes/transmits it with radio waves.

AM- Amplitude Modulation.

FM- Frequency modulation.

Wireless communication- Transfers information between two sources.

Optical fibres - A fibre that can be transmitted.

Satellite dishes- A bowl-shaped object that transmits signals.
